With the help from well wishers Bush fire Ministries has embarked on the income gerationg activity in form of the chicken rearing and it has taken advatge to train orphans with this skill should they graduate fro the orphanage.
There will be need to develop more of such projects just to empower more orphans with survival skills because one day they will be old be , fathers and mothers taking care of their own children
For this reason Bush Fire has been seeking close relationship with partners to help empower orphans with some survival skills in line with what would like to see happening in the lives of the fatherless.
God commands each christian to be mindful of the fatherless , widows, and the destitutes . Therefore whatever God will speak to you to help Bush Fire Ministries it shall go a long way.

Bush fire care Projects for orphans and vulnerable children
In Zambia the problem of street children has become a major concern for the community members and it has been estimated that there are close to 72,000 children living on the streets.
There are 2 types of street children in Zambia.
1. Children on the streets: These are children who spend time on the streets they spend the nights on the streets and they feed on the streets, they have made the streets to be their residence. These are very difficult to be handdled in that they have become like savages and very violent. These are the children found to be using drugs and found in petty crimes. They think they are a forgotten generation, and none cares for them so they behave like a porcupine when it sees an enemy it becomes offensive.
2. Children of the streets : These are children who just come to work earn money on the streets and later during the day they go back home with the little money they have made on the streets . These are children who either being sent by their family members who ca not afford to feed them at may after the death of their parents. Some of these children are very committed with school life only that the circumstances they have found themselves in can not allow them to continue with school . They have taken up the responsibility of the elderly person to take care of other siblings at home. They have become bread winners .
By being found on the streets people take advantage of them and they are being sexually , physically, emotionally abused.
Bush Fire Ministries have been involoved in the tracing of relatives of the children mentioned and see how best they can be helped through counselling and be placed in schools, the ministry has also been in partnership with the ministry of social welfare and community development under the Zambian government.
Bush Fire has also been working with other regious groups within the community to help curb the problem of street children..
The community members have been mobilised and sensitzed with informastion aimed at strengthening the African extended family systems , because we believethat no child is an island each one has got the roots all is needed is for the community to get organised which Bush Fire Ministries has facilitated.

Bush Fire care and support for orphans
Bush fire Ministries is a chriatian a Zambian registered organisation formed in the year 2005 with the primary goal of providing care and support to the orphans and vulnerable children in society using the following intevention strategies:
1.Provision of educational support through the christian school and supporting those who have managed to go to the universities
2. Provision of nutritional / food supplements to the orphans at the orphanage
3.Skills training for the most vulnerable children from the community affected by HIV/AIDS
4. Provision of material items which includes clothes, shoes, bedings and basic health support
5. Community empowerment skills which includes training community members in the strengthening of African extended family support to orphans
The orphange is currently helping 70 who are in residence and 200 children coming from the community to Bush Fire Christian school, during the lessons teachers identify the most vulnerable children whom they put on the Psycho social counselling and enjoy the supplementary food which is being provided to them.
The orphanage is also involved in the provision of christian education both to the orphaned children and members of the community .
Bush Fire Ministries has great potential in the provision of care and support to the orphans since it has the vast land about 88 hectors and a stream , therefore, developing close relationships with individuals, churches, organisations even companies will be something that will benefit the target group .
Since we have the vast land , we have plans to do the following:
1. Banana plantation
2. Poultrly
3.Piggerly
4.Fish farming
5. Extention of the christian school to the youth skills training school which will also help the community members.
All the designed activities will benefit the orphans and vulnerable children to find their true identity in life, and realize their worth in the LORD.
For this reason Bush Fire Ministries would like to have exparts in the mentioned fields to help orphans and vulnerable children including the community members.
DEMAND FROM THE COMMUNITY
Bush Fire Ministries is situated in the peri - urban area like a farming area where most of the young people are forced into early marriages after the death of their parents as the result of HIV/AIDS related . Extended family members fail to cope up with the current economic state , so the orphaned children choose to work in the farms, go in the streets as street children, get involved in commecial sex and child labour instead of being in school.
Therefore, Bush Fire Ministries have programmes to sensitize community members on the importance of orphans being in school and the promotion of education to the girl child.
By providing the Psycho social support (PSS) to the orphaned children Bush Fire Ministries has also been involved in Christian Education , the church is based at the same plot where services are conducted both to the orphans and members from the community. That has made the ministry to add value to the community and the lives of the most vulnerable children.
WHAT CAN BE DONE

We would so much need your advice , techenical and material support as we have been facing some challenges in meeting some of the needs at the orphanage .
